1) To soften the bit on sensitive horses

Especially if there is a risk of being too hard on, resulting in hard corners of the mouth, Bit-Tex can help soften to prevent worse.

2) To protect the corners of the mouth

If your horse's mouth is sensitive, possibly already injured in the past.

3) To thicken the bit

If a bit is just a little too thin/sharp for your horse, you can use Bit-Tex to obtain a thicker bit, always with the softness of latex.

4) To give more comfort to the horse

Action on the bit is often made easier because the bit is just pleasantly soft for the horse.

5) To make the horse accept a bit more easily

Some horses just don't respond well to metal in the mouth, the Bit-Tex latex wrap is going to soften and make the bit easier to accept

6) To optimise bit function

7) To adjust the functionality of a bit

You can give a broken or double broken bit a ‘rod function’ with Bit-Tex , without it immediately being as hard as a rod.

8) To give the bit a longer life

Some horses seem to eat rubber bits... Bit-Tex is going to help prevent this and extend the life of the bit sensitively.

9) To temporarily patch up a damaged bit

If you notice at competition that something is wrong with your bit and you don't have another bit with you, Bit-Tex can provide temporary relief.

10) To ease the transition from riding bitless to riding with a bit

Which bit wrap? And why Bit-Tex?

A few years ago, the manufacturer of the well-known Sealtex stopped, after which several copies appeared on the market, the quality of which varies widely.

Some wraps are not made of latex and therefore lack the flexibility characteristic of natural latex. Other manufacturers have chosen to make their bit wraps thicker, which offers no advantage. In addition, there are wraps that are adequate in terms of material, but packaged incorrectly. Latex that is not, like the original Sealtex, presented rolled up with interleaving paper, dries out quickly and therefore loses its qualities.

Bit-Tex, on the other hand, is a copy of Sealtex in all respects, the only difference being that it is a fraction thinner than the original. This makes Bit Tex easier to use in areas where thickness matters. Bit-Tex is therefore the perfect replacement and the new Sealtex.

How to use Bit-Tex?

Correct application of a bit wrap requires attention to the tension of the bandage. Here are the steps to best use the Bit-Tex Latex Bit Wrap:

  1. Preparation
    1. Cut a strip about 10 cm long
    2. Make sure the smooth side of the bandage is against the bit.
  2. Tension is crucial
    1. Make sure you stretch the bandage firmly with each wrap.
    2. Tip: The wrap should become almost translucent during application. There is actually no such thing as too much tension!
  3. Application and finishing
    1. Start on the outside of the bit.
    2. Stretch the bandage firmly and wrap the bit completely.
    3. With each round, make sure there is a large overlap with the previous wrap.
    4. Finish on the outside of the bit again.
    5. Press the Bit Tex firmly at the end.

Once applied, your bit is ready to use, and you can start riding right away!
